Community safety - Domestic abuse strategy

The council continues to focus on domestic abuse as part of a wider national approach to address violence against women and girls (VAWG). We know that the vast majority of these violent acts are committed by men on women and girls, but we also want to learn more about other situations where domestic abuse may be happening for example men who experience domestic abuse.

We know it can be difficult to talk about these issues, but by filling in this questionnaire you will help to shape future services in Southwark. We really appreciate your input.

What is domestic abuse?

Domestic abuse is defined as any incident or pattern of incidents of controlling, coercive, threatening behaviour, violence or abuse which happens between intimate partners or family members, regardless of gender or sexuality. Abuse can take lots of different forms including psychological, physical, sexual, financial and emotional.
