Registration for a Temporary Trader

Introduction

Before you can trade on any of our markets, you must register with us as a Temporary Trader. In order to do this, you must fill in this registration form to ensure there is a space on a particular market for your chosen commodity.

If you’re accepted to trade, we’ll contact you to make an appointment to come into our office so that you can register as a temporary trader.

Do not come to the office to register until an appointment has been made for you. Once an appointment has been made for you, we’ll inform you the required documentation to bring with you.

Please note you’re not permitted to trade until you’ve registered with us and have received your ID card and pitch plate. If you trade before you have been registered you will be deemed to be an illegal trader and treated accordingly.

Southwark Council uses your personal data to licence markets and street trading under statutory regulation or for business practices. The London Local Authorities Act 1990 (as amended) requires us to do this. The council does not need your permission to process your data, and failure to tell us your information may result in prosecution.

Your personal information will only be used by the markets and street trading team. Your information will be held for 6 years and then it will be destroyed.

If you are concerned about how the council is using your data, please contact our Data Protection Officer via dpo@southwark.gov.uk or on 020 7525 5000. More information about your rights is available on our website, or via the Information Commissioner.
