Business Rates - Provide details for a local restrictions support grant (closed) addendum

Introduction

The Government imposed a national lockdown on 5 November 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and they announced there would be support for businesses which were required to close.This support is in the form of a Local Restrictions Support Grant (Closed) Addendum.

The support is for businesses which were required to close in the non-essential retail, hospitality, personal care, sports facilities and leisure sectors.

Eligibility

To be eligible to claim your business must:

  • occupy the property on which it pays business rates
  • have been told by the government to close as of 5 November 2020 or had adapted your business to offer Takeaway or ‘Click and Collect’ products
  • be open and trading to visiting members of the public before 5 November 2020
Who is not eligible?
  • Businesses that were in administration, insolvent or where a striking off notice has been made
  • Businesses that have exceeded the permitted state aid limit
  • Businesses that chose to close but were not required to close as part of national restrictions
  • Businesses whose substantive business is a takeaway
What you will get:

Eligible businesses will be able to receive the following grants:

Rateable value

Grant paid per 28 day period

    £15,000 or less

£1,334

    £15,001 and less than £51,000

£2,000

    £51,000 or greater

£3,000
